Mahesh Babu Denies Six Pack Rumors in Sukumar Movie

Ever since Mahesh Babu started training with Gregory Joujon-Roche — the Hollywood fitness trainer who worked with the likes of Brad Pitt, Demi Moore and Tobey Maguire — Tollywood has been rife with rumours that the actor was going shirtless for his next movie with Sukumar.

Greg was reportedly paid a whopping Rs 1 crore as his fee.Speaking to Hyderabad Times from the sets of “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu”, the actor rubbished speculations that he was training in order to sport six pack abs by the end of this year for a special scene in Sukumar’s movie.

I am not planning to go shirtless in any of my movies. I am working with Greg to improve on my health and fitness levels,” the actor categorically stated.

With less than four months to go for Saif Ali Khan  and Kareena Kapoor's wedding, the bride-to-be’s wedding dress has been finalized. It will be thesharara that Saif’s mom wore on her wedding. 

Continuing the tradition of the royal Pataudi family, Kareena Kapoor has happily agreed to wear the same sharara that Sharmila Tagore wore on her wedding to the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in 1969. 

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor will get hitched on October 16 and the wedding preparations are already said to be underway. Interestingly even though Kareena had a slew of designer friends to choose from to do her wedding outfit, she will respect the tradition of the Khan family by wearing Sharmila Tagore’s sharara. 

Earlier, it was reported that the sharara will be redone and embellished to give it a modern look, but now Sharmila Tagore has now confirmed that no changes will be made to the dress. 

However, Kareena Kapoor’s favourite Bollywood designer Manish Malhotra will reportedly design her trousseau. 

Saif and Kareena will tie the knot in Pataudi in what could be a registered wedding. Later, there would be a lavish reception thrown in Mumbai for the friends and colleagues from the film industry.

Devi Sri Prasad to compose Music for Ram Charan's Zanjeer!

Devi Sri Prasad who is on cloud nine after the success of Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh bagged another prestigious project. It is none other than Ram Charan's dream Bollywood debut movie 'Zanjeer'. Previously, DSP composed few songs in Bollywood. However, this would be his first film as full-fledged music director in Bollywood. An official announcement on this news is awaited.


On the other hand DSP is currently busy with Ram Charan's 'Yevadu', Prabhas Kortala Siva's Vaaradhi(Working Title), Mahesh - SUkumar's untitled movie, and Ravi Teja's Sir Osthara.

On the other hand, the first schedule of Zanjeer is completed. Priyanka Chopra is playing the lead girl role opposite Ram Charan. Other cast include Arjun Rampal, Mahie Gill, Prakash Raj and a cameo by Amitabh Bachchan is expected.

Apoorva Lakhia is directing the movie. Amit Mehra, Reliance Entertainment and Eros Ram Mirchandani are jointly producing this bilingual (Hindi and Telugu) movie with the budget of Rs 70 crore.

Look within before blaming me, Aamir Khan tells doctors

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has hit out at doctors who claim his show 'Satyamev Jayate' has tarnished their image. After highlighting social issues affecting Indian society, Aamir Khan, in the fourth episode of his show, turned the spotlight on healthcare and malpractices in the medical profession. He highlighted unethical practices, corruption and scandalous revelations in medical treatment.

Soon after, an umbrella body of 21 medical institutions had asked Aamir to apologize for accusing doctors of malpractices. Medscape India said the representation of malpractices supposedly perpetrated by doctors was 'rather sad' and Aamir Khan should offer his apologies.

In an exclusive interview to CNN-IBN Deputy Editor Sagarika Ghose, the actor has now defended himself strongly against these charges and said that the image of doctors is being tarnished not by his show but by those doctors who continue to engage in unethical practices.

"No injustice was done on the show. Doctors have to look inwards. Some doctors are bringing disrepute to the profession," Aamir said.

Aamir recently appeared before a Parliamentary panel examining FDI in pharmaceuticals sector and pitched for generic medicines, saying companies will continue to make profit if they sell cheap drugs to the poor.

The 47-year-old actor was invited to appear as a witness before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce which is examining the issue of FDI in pharma sector.

Music composer Thamman has contacted the Mumbai team who made possible Akon’s Chammak Challo act in RA.One, and will be flying to Los Angeles on July 4 armed with a foot-tapping tune to rope in the iconic singer.

“Actually, a lot of experimenting is going into this chartbuster. We have discovered a wonderful tune and are now working on the lyrics.

We want to make it easy for Akon to sing the lyrics as Telugu is quite a tough language to grasp. We will play the chosen tune for Akon in July and record the song once he allots the dates to us. We have around seven months’ time,” informs Thamman.

So, will Kajal be joining Akon in the recording room? “We haven’t finalised anyone but we definitely want a top actress to sing with Akon to add to the glam quotient.

Unleashing promotional videos is the need of the hour,” says Thamman adding, “The music will be larger-than-life to befit Jr NTR’s superstar status.”

With changing trends, these days anyone can be turned into a singer. So if Kajal agrees to hop on board for the song (she has already been signed on to play the female lead), all the music producer has to do is use vocal filters and other mastering tools to turn the song into a hit.

Story :


Ram (Ram) is a happy go lucky guy who is very mischievous and doesn’t hesitate to lie just to get his way through. His antics cause trouble to his joint family and his father (Sayaji) is always miffed with Ram. On the other hand, Sravanthi (Tamannah), daughter of the Indian diplomat (Suman) lives in Paris. Sravanthi wants to live life freely without any barriers but due to her father’s position, she is always surrounded by security. A small plan by Ram’s father sends him to Paris so that he can learn some responsibility and due to an unexpected event he comes across Sravanthi. However, Sravanthi has a reason to be with Ram and she plans his escape to India. What is that reason? What is the link between Ram and Sravanthi? All this forms the rest of the story.


Performance: 


The tag of Energetic Star that appears in the title cards has been completely justified by Ram. He carries the film with ease and his performance is more matured. His dances are a delight to watch and he has given his 100% for this film. Tamanna is apt in the role and looks, as usual, beautiful. Sijayi Shinde is good, while it is Anu Hassan and Rishi of A Film who have taken the major credit for their roles. Surprising as well as disappointing was Kona Venkat, as his performance was bad.


Technical Analysis :

Cinematography by Andrews is on top-notch and stands out. The entire film was captured quite beautifully. GV Prakash’s composed songs are not up to the mark but the background score is appealing and elevating. Dialogues are good, Editing isn’t crisp and could be trimmed more. Screenplay is weak and Karunakaran failed miserably with narration. Sravanthi Movies production values are rich.

Chief Minister RK Bhupati (Prakash Raj) passes a GO to build a new fly over because of which Kamal will be losing his ancestral house. To save his house, Kamal leaves to Hyderabad to talk to Railway Minister and convince him. City welcomes Kamal with unexpected twists and lands him in a helpless state. Kamal starts a political game to save his house. Will kamal win the battle ? How will a common man fight against corrupted politicians and its government has to be watched onscreen.



Performances:

Karthi is at his best in the character of Kamal. He gave his best for it but the director failed to use him completely as an actor. His attempt to dub his own voice is commendable. He had put in decent efforts in dancing and fights. His costumes are neat and styling suited to that of a political leader. He has good histrionics and face value which appeal for Telugu audience even though he is a Tamilian and it will do good in the long run in AP.

Pranitha played the character of Sri Devi who is Kamal’s mardalu in the movie. She has very limited screen presence and is okay in them. Radhika, Roja, Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivasa Rao are good in the limited roles they are offered. Santhanam’s comedy track is good and had almost equal screen presence to hero in the first half.

Technical Analysis :

Cinematography is an asset and quite appealing. All the songs are colorfully picturised though GV Prakash’s music was mediocre. Background score was alright. Sreekar Prasad’s editing could have been much better trimming down the unwanted scenes in the initial half. Dialogues are good and entertaining. Direction by Shankar Dayal is not upto the mark. Production Values are rich.

Analysis :

Sakuni is a political drama and few of the episodes are targeted on the current happenings in politics which makes an interesting plot. But Shankar Dayal could not make it much exciting with quite slow paced narration. Though the first half had a good entertainment in parts, the narration is slow and the actual story begins only before 15 minutes of the interval with Radhika entrance. Few of the scenes like the satires on the current political systems and the schemes the parties offer will gel well with the audiences. However, there are major loopholes in the script and director has taken too many liberties. Despite the appreciable story, the faltered screenplay and the confusing narration with an abrupt climax plays the spoilsport for Sakuni. Karthi, Sanathanam, Radhika’s performances, the storyline are the positive points while the weak screenplay and slow paced narrations becomes the negatives of Sakuni.

Anushka and Roja have small cameos and it is good to see Anushka after a long time on the big screen

Weak screenplay
The songs act as mere speed breakers and their placement in the movie could have been better.

Impressive plot executed with weak screenplay.

Sakuni is a political entertainer that is worth watching once for a sparkling performance from Karthi and an entertaining second half
